Baucum's Bits: Kansas State Edition

John Baucum takes a look at the Kansas State matchup this weekend.

*Under Bill Snyder, K-State is 3-5 against Texas Tech.

*Tech AD Kirby Hocutt played football at Kansas State and was a sideline guest of the Wildcats during the very first Big 12 game in 1996 (Kansas State won 24-17).

*K-State ranks in the top 17 nationally in three categories: Scoring defense, rushing defense, and total defense.

*Tech has a 4-game win streak in the series and all-time record of 8-3 against Kansas State

*Texas Tech is 50-28-3 all time on homecoming and is in the midst of a 4-game win streak since losing to Missouri in 2006

*This is Tech's 3rd homecoming matchup with Kansas State. Tech won 59-20 in 2005 and 66-14 in 2009

*Tech ranks 7th nationally in red zone scoring. The Red Raiders are 28-29 and have converted 25 of those trips into  touchdowns

*Texas Tech has trailed at the half in every game of the 2011season aside from the trip to New Mexico.

*This will be head coach Tommy Tuberville's first game against Kansas State.

*Saturday's game will be Tech's 5th consecutive televised game
