Baucum's Bits: Kansas State Takes Down Tech

John Baucum looks into what was another tough loss for the Red Raiders.

*Tech dropped consecutive home games for the first time since 2006. The losses that year were Missouri and Texas

*Doege's 2nd career interception was a "pick six." The last time a Tech QB threw one of those was in 2009 when Steven Sheffield threw one to Oklahoma State's Patrick Lavine in Stillwater

*Freshman RB DeAndre Washington scored his third rushing TD of the season when he gave Tech a 14-7 lead in the 2nd quarter.

*Aaron Crawford's 51 yard TD run was the longest of his career and the longest run by a Tech player this season.

*Seth Doege's first career rushing TD gave Tech a 28-20 lead with 35 seconds left in the half

*Doege's 3 INTs quadrupled his season total. Previously, the junior from Frenship had only thrown one and that was at Kansas.

*Tyler Lockett's 100 yard kickoff return was the 2nd special teams TD the Red Raiders have allowed this season. Tech also allowed A&M to score on a blocked FG last week.

*Texas Tech was outscored 21-6 in the second half

*This was Tech's first loss to Kansas State since 2000, a 28-23 in Manhattan.

*Tech takes on Oklahoma next week in Norman. The game will be on ABC and will be the 6th consecutive television game for the Red Raiders.
