Baucum's Bits: Iowa State Takes Down Tech

John Baucum looks into what was another tough loss for the Red Raiders.

*Tech snapped a 69-game streak of throwing a touchdown pass. Tech's TD came on a Doege run.

*The Red Raiders are suffering through a 3-game home losing streak for the first time since 1991.

*Tech has lost back to back games to Iowa State for the first time ever, and Tuberville is 0-2 against Iowa State and his former assistant, Paul Rhoads.

*Representatives from the Meinecke Car Care Bowl and the Valero Alamo Bowl were in attendance tonight.

*Tech snapped a streak of 69 straight games of throwing a touchdown pass.

*Going back to the 4th quarter against Iowa State, Tech committed 5 turnovers in two consecutive quarters. The Red Raiders had three in the 4th quarter against K-State and two in the first quarter of this weekend's game.  Additionally, Tech punted nine times, a new season high.

*At 5-3 on the season, Tech has now trailed at the half in every game aside from New Mexico, Kansas State, and Oklahoma.

*Tech's possession time of 20 minutes even is a season low.

*Tech's 7 first half points tied a season low with the game against Nevada.

* Tech takes on Texas in Austin next week at 11am on FX, the Red Raiders 8th consecutive televised game. Only the season opener against Texas State was not televised.
