Bokenkamp Powers Tech in Exhibition Win

Mary Bokenkamp led the Lady Raiders with 14 points in an exhibition game win on Wednesday night against Angelo State.

The Lady Raiders started the season off on the right foot with a dominating 81-45 win against Angelo State in their first exhibition game of the season.

Texas Tech jumped out a to quick 22-6 lead behind the play of Mary Bokenkamp, who hit her first four three-pointer attempts. The junior would finish with a team-leading 14 points in the win.

Tech was able to share the wealth well as four Lady Raiders including Bokenkamp, Christine Hyde, Casey Morris and Chynna Brown, found themselves in double-digits in scoring at the end of the night also.

Defensively the Lady Raiders played well holding the Belles to just 33.3 percent shooting on the night and forced 30 turnovers. Morris owned six of the Lady Raiders 22 steals on the night.

Tech is back in action at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the United Spirit Arena taking on Metro State, who was ranked No. 12 in the Division II Bulletin Top-25 Preseason Poll.
