Lady Raiders Break Into Top 25

Texas Tech women's basketball find itself ranked in the AP Poll for the first time since 2006.

Following a dominant performance in their season opener against the New Mexico Lobos, winning 69-43 here in Lubbock on Friday, Texas Tech finds itself ranked No.25 in the most recent Associated Press Poll.

This marks the first time since January 24 the Lady Raiders are ranked, Tech was ranked in the USA Today Poll at that time, and for the first time since November 27, 2006 in the Associated Press Poll.

The Lady Raiders are one of three squads from the Big 12 Conference ranked in the Top 25.

Baylor comes in at No.1 and defending National Champion Texas A&M comes in at No. 6.

The next challenge for the Lady Raiders comes Wednesday in the form of winless Houston. That game tips off at 7 p.m.
