Baucum's Bits: Missouri 31 Texas Tech 27

Here are some bits of information from what was an interesting game especially for Tech.

*  Today's loss gives Texas Tech a four-game losing skid for the first time since 1993 and gives Missouri a 6-3 lead in the all-time series.

 * The loss also gives Tommy Tuberville a 13-11 record as the head coach of the Red Raiders, and a 1-1 record against Missouri.

 * Ryan Erxleben notched a career long 59-yard punt early in the second quarter, surpassing his previous career long of 58 yards set last week against Oklahoma State.

* Texas Tech won the opening coin toss for just the third time this season and elected to defer.

* Junior receiver Alex Torres suffered a sprained right knee on Tech's opening drive.  He did not return. 

* Freshman running back Deandre Washington suffered a right knee injury late in the first half.  He did not return.

* Texas Tech won the opening coin toss for just the third time this season and elected to defer.

* The Texas Tech defense stopped Missouri on its first five offensive possessions. The last time Tech was able to make five-straight defensive stands was against Missouri last season (a 24-17 win by the Red Raiders).

* Seth Doege became the 11th quarterback in Texas Tech history to pass for over 4,000 career yards. Doege has passed for 4,071 yards in 17 career games at Texas Tech.

* Texas Tech's game next Saturday against Baylor will be televised by Fox Sports Net at 6PM. Tune in as the Red Raiders fight for bowl eligibility.
