The Red Raiders have not had the luxury of getting to enjoy a win for the past 12 days, but rather a tough loss.
Now Texas Tech (4-4) returns to the court for the first time to try and get back onto the winning side of things and the opponent couldn't be better.
Grambling State (0-6) drew not the easiest opponent to try and get its first win of the season against, considering the Red Raiders have slowly but surely improving.
Tech is more than likely glad to be back at home in the United Spirit Arena, where they haven't played a game in 28 days, but are 3-0 on the season.
The Red Raiders went 1-4 on the road with their one win in that stretch coming in their first true road test of the season against Texas A&M – Corpus Christi.
Despite struggling during this most recent stretch, freshman Jordan Tolbert has not.
Tolbert has quickly made a name for himself leading the team in scoring averaging 13 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game as well. The Forth Worth native had a coming out part against his hometown Horned Frogs scoring 27 points, which is the second most by a freshman in the Big 12 era.
When breaking down the Tigers, there are not multiple players in double-digits in scoring, like the Red Raiders have in Tolbert and Ty Nurse – who at one point was averaging 19.3 points per game.
For Grambling State the one bright spot on their stat sheet is in junior center Peter Roberson, who averages 8.0 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game.
Tech and Grambling State are meeting for the first time in programs history, but who will come out with a win considering both teams have had close to two weeks off now.
