Tech Makes Change in Women's Tennis Program

Collins served as head coach during the 2003 spring season.

Texas Tech Athletics Director Gerald Myers announced today a "change in leadership" of the women's tennis program following a 3-14 record and a ninth-place Big 12 finish during the 2002-03 season.

"I appreciate Sandy's efforts in coaching the team during the spring," Myers said of Collins, who assumed coaching duties prior to the spring season. "But we feel we need to go in a different direction in the leadership of the women's tennis program."

Myers added that the position would be posted immediately followed by an extensive search.
