Notebook: Lady Raiders Face Roadrunners

Tech is back on the court tonight against CSU-Bakersfield. The Red Raiders beat CSU-Bakersfield on Tuesday in Lubbock, now it's the Lady Raiders turn to try and stay perfect.

* Lady Raiders (10-0) return to the court tonight in the Surf-N-Slam Tournament to take on CSU-Bakersfield (3-13)


* Texas Tech is currently ranked No. 13 in the Associated Press Poll and No.18 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll


* Tech head coach Kristy Curry sits only two wins away from career win No. 100 at the helm of the Lady Raider program


* The Roadrunners have struggled with injuries this season losing five players to injuries – Jana Smith (Torn ACL), Tyler Collins (Torn ACL), Tyonna Outland (Torn ACL), Dajy Vines (Right knee injury – expected to return), Marilyn Naderhoff (right knee injury – expected to return).


* With all the injuries the Roadrunners had to reach into the Volleyball team to get another player so they could have enough. CSU-Bakersfield added Tika Smith. Smith scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds against Fresno State on December 15, her first basketball game since her junior year in High School


* Lady Raiders have been lucky to remain healthy throughout the season


* Kierra Mallard has continued to lead the Lady Raiders in her senior season averaging 13.9 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game. The Dallas native also leads the team in blocks with 22


* For the Roadrunners junior guard Amber Williams leads the team averaging 14.5 points per game
