Notebook: Red Raiders 62, Lions 54

Texas Tech stays perfect at home with a physical win against Southeastern Louisiana in the United Spirit Arena.

* Texas Tech was able to hold on in a weird game beating Southeastern Louisiana 62-54


* Red Raiders improve to 7-5 while the Lions fall to 5-6 on the season


* This marked the third straight loss for the Lions where the opponent scored 62 points


* The win means back-to-back wins for Tech heading into conference play


* Tech finished the non-conference schedule 6-0 at home, 1-2 on the road and 0-3 at neutral sites


* Tech had a total of 28 fouls called on them, which ties a season high which was set back on November 20 against Stephen F. Austin.


* Billy Gillispie got tabbed with a technical foul in the first half, which was his first of the season


* Javarez Willis led the team with 15 points on 3-for-8 shooting and was 8-for-8 from the free throw line


* Tech had three other players in double-digits as well, Jordan Tolbert (11), Ty Nurse (10), Jaye Crockett (10)


* Daron Populist was the only player for Southeastern Louisiana that reached double-digits getting 10 points for the Lions


*Red Raiders won the rebound battle 36-35, and led scoring in the paint 20-14


* The 36 rebounds for the Red Raiders were the second most they have had in a game this season, had 37 twice against North Texas and Texas A&M – CC


* The Lions bench was electric scoring 29 of their 62, Tech was only able to get 15 points from their bench


* Red Raiders finished non-conference play 7-5 and now faces an 18-game Big 12 Conference schedule which will be relentless


* Tech returns to the court on January 4th on the road in Stillwater, Oklahoma to take on the Cowboys to open Big 12 play
