Notebook: Texas 74, Texas Tech 57

The Longhorns rolled the Red Raiders on Saturday night in Austin and here are some notes and bits of info from that game.

* Texas Tech fell to Texas 74-57 on Saturday marking the 16th straight home game win against the Red Raiders for the Longhorns


* The 17-point loss is tied for the fourth worst loss of the season and the 57 points scored was the ninth fewest scored by Tech this season


* Rick Barnes is now 26-3 against the Red Raiders overall and is 14-0 at home in that series

* Billy Gillispie faced a Barnes coached team as a head coach of a Big 12 team for the first time since February 28, 2007 when Texas beat Texas A&M 98-96


* Red Raiders fall to 7-15 overall and 0-10 in Big 12 play, while Texas improves to 14-9 overall and 4-6 in Big 12 play


* Both teams finished with three players in double-digits


* Texas= Clint Chapman (20), Sheldon McClellan (17), J'Covan Brown (17)


* Chapman's 20-point night marks his first 20-point game of the season and his career, his previous career-high and season-high was 19 points against Iowa State on January 4


* Texas Tech= Ty Nurse (18), Jordan Tolbert (12), Clark Lammert (12)


* The 18 point-performance for Nurse marked a new season-high in scoring in Big 12 play, and is his third-straight game to reach double-digits in scoring


* Lammert's 12-point performance marks a new career-high, and is his first double-digit performance since scoring 10 against Texas A&M


* Texas outrebounded Texas Tech 41-25, which marks the most rebounds the Red Raiders have given up in league play, previous two highs were 40 to Kanas and Iowa State


* Texas finished the game shooting for 43.4% from the field (1st- 34.5%, 2nd – 54.2%), while Tech finished the game shooting 40.7% from the field (1st Half - 28.1%, 2nd Half – 59.1%)


* Texas is back in action on February 6th in the State Farm Lone Star Shootout against Texas A&M with first tip coming at 8 p.m. on ESPN


* Texas Tech is back in action on February 7th against Kansas State on the road with first tip coming at 7 p.m. on the Big 12 Network
