"I could never thank Lance enough for all of the contributions he made to the Lady Raider program over the last decade," Texas Tech head coach Marsha Sharp said. "He is an outstanding talent in women's basketball ranks and I wish him the best of luck at Florida State. The position at Florida State will allow more versatility for Lance with on the floor coaching and recruiting.
"Lance and his wife, Melanie, are special to me and I will always be one of his biggest fans," Sharp added.
White began his affiliation with Lady Raider basketball as a student manager during the Lady Raiders' 1992-93 championship season and served four years in the capacity. Upon graduation in 1996, White joined the staff as a graduate assistant coach for two seasons and was elevated to assistant coach after receiving his master's degree in 1998.
"This has been an awesome experience," White said. "I could never repay Coach Sharp for all she has taught me. She gave me an incredible opportunity to serve on her staff. Coach Sharp is the reason I stayed at Tech as long as I did.
"I will miss the players, staff and incredible fan support I've enjoyed over the last 11 seasons," White added. "However, new challenges and the opportunity to help build a program await."
Sharp said the position will be posted immediately and will remain open for 10 days. She is currently taking applications for the position
