On Wednesday, Texas Tech announced that sophomore running back Ronnie Daniels has been dismissed from the team and will not be reinstated.
Official Statement from Blayne Beal, Associate Athletic Director/Communications.
"Sophomore running back Ronnie Daniels has been dismissed from the Texas Tech Football team due to a violation of team rules. He will not be reinstated."
Daniels played in only one game in 2011; Tech's 59-13 win against New Mexico, and carried the ball nine times for 44 yards and a trip to the end zone.
Following that game Daniels was suspended from the team for violation of team rules, and was reinstated this spring.
Daniels participated in the spring practices and the annual Spring Game this past weekend, but has been now dismissed from the team for good following another violation of team rules.
