Big 12 Champs Draw Bye and Winner of Missouri & Iowa State

Just one day after winning the Big 12 Conference Championship, the No. 19 Lady Raiders have now found out who they might be playing on Friday in the Big 12 Tournament.

Texas Tech (18-4, 8-1 in Big 12 play) received the No. 1 seed, with which comes a first round bye as well.

The Lady Raiders open play on Friday at 9 a.m. and face either No. 8 Missouri or No. 9 Iowa State – the two teams the Lady Raiders defeated during the weekend, 6-1 and 5-2, respectively.

Now the one time the No. 44 Tigers (10-11, 2-7) and the Cyclones clashed this season Missouri notched its first of two Big 12 wins on the season with a 6-1 victory downing the Cyclones.

Missouri and Iowa State (4-18, 1-8) are set to meet up Thursday with first serve set for 10 a.m. at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station.

Red Raiders No. 2 Seed in Tourney, Get Winner of Baylor & Oklahoma State

Following their own historic season, where Tech downed Texas A&M, Baylor and Texas all in the same season for the first time in program history, the No. 22 Red Raiders are the No. 2 seed in the Big 12 tourney.

Tech (15-7, 4-1) will also receive a bye in day one of the tournament, which is Friday for the men, and open play on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Red Raiders will face the winner of the No. 3 Baylor and No. 6 Oklahoma State match. The Bears and Cowboys are set for a 9 a.m. first serve on Friday.

Baylor (15-10, 3-2) looks to repeat the success it found against the Cowboys back on April 15, 4-3, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Now on the other hand the Cowboys (7-13, 0-5) seek their first win against a conference foe and look to do it in the tournament.

The Red Raiders defeated both the Bears, 6-1 on March 31, and the Cowboys, 5-1 on April 13.
