Fireworks and More

Tech Athletics announces changes and improvements to Game Day festivities.

With a new season upon us, Texas Tech Athletics have added some new features to enhance the game day experience at Jones AT&T Stadium for the fans.

On Monday, Tech Athletics announced some new exciting things that will be happening this season at the Jones, most notably the addition of fireworks.

Following each Red Raider touchdown and field goal, fireworks will be shot off from the roof of the ticket office in the north end of the stadium.

Also the Goin' Band from Raiderland has a new home in the stadium moving from the stands on the east side, to the south end zone. The band also got a new sign on the windows above their new seats as well.

There will also be Points of Pride added to the east side of the stadium.

Starting in the New Mexico game on September 15, fans can expect to see bowl appearances, All-Americans, conference championships and more added to the east side façade.

Of course that addition will compliment the Ring of Honor that has been added to the west side of the stadium, where Dave Parks, Donny Anderson and E.J. Holub's names have been added.

Their names will be officially revealed at Saturday's season opener against Northwestern State making it the Ring of Honor game.

Theme games will not be a rarity this season as the Red Raiders have attached a theme to every game – New Mexico, Celebrating Cotton, Oklahoma, Hispanic Heritage Appreciation, West Virginia, Homecoming, Texas, Texas Pride Game, and Kansas, Military Appreciation.

Looking towards the future, at the conclusion of this season, the construction on a new video board will begin and a new sound system will be installed for the 2013 season.
