Moffit Hired As Assistant Volleyball Coach

Texas Tech head volleyball coach Nancy Todd announced the completion of her coaching staff today with the addition of Mike Moffitt as the second assistant. Todd hired Doug Babington in April to fill her previous duties as the program's top assistant.

Moffit, a native of Lubbock, is no stranger to the Texas Tech volleyball program as he has been associated with it in some capacity since 1998. He served as the student assistant coach under then head coach Jeff Nelson from 1998 until his graduation in 2002. During his tenure as the student assistant coach he also played on the Texas Tech men's volleyball club team as both a player and a coach.

Last season he took his first full time job as director of volleyball for the All Saints Episcopal School in Lubbock. Despite leaving the Tech volleyball program he continued his association through summer camps as a camp coordinator.

Moffit also has experience coaching on the club level as he coached the Texas Power to a combined 45-3 record in three years (2000-03) as the head coach.

He graduated cum laude from Texas Tech in 2002 with a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science.
