California Softball Standout Signs with Tech

Texas Tech head softball coach Bobby Reeves announced today that Natalie Kula has signed a National Letter of Intent to enroll at the university and compete for the Lady Raiders during the upcoming season.

A native of Los Angeles, Calif., Kula primarily played at third base for Eagle Rock Senior High School, but also saw action at shortstop and second base. She was named to the 2002 Northern League Varsity All-League and All-Conference first teams and was named the defensive player of the year. Kula has received all-league and all-conference honors each of the last three seasons and was named the Rookie of the Year in 2000.

Kula progressed at the plate each season, improving from .280 as a freshman to .410 during her senior season. She also turned in an impressive .985 fielding percentage as a senior.

Kula also excelled in the classroom. She received the Student-Athlete and Presidential awards for three years and was a class officer during her junior and senior years.
