Batson Doing it All

Texas Tech commit Cameron Batson is having a great senior season for Oklahoma City Millwood. The three-star receiver prospect talks about what he likes about the Red Raiders, when he plans on visiting and who else is recruiting him hard.

Texas Tech commit Cameron Batson turned in another terrific performance for undefeated Oklahoma City Millwood on Thursday.

Batson, who runs a 4.4 second forty-yard dash, put his speed on display in Millwood's 60-33 victory over Crooked Oak. He rushed for three touchdowns, passed for a couple more and returned a punt for a score.

"It's just preparation troughout the week and throughout the summer," Batson said. "You know hard work pays off, my team played well, so I just wanted to make things happen."

Batson plays quarterback, cornerback and returns punts for Millwood and has accounted for 28 overall touchdowns through seven games with one coming on one of his four interceptions and two on punt returns (another one was called back).

"They give me a little break on kickoffs," Batson said.

Batson, rated as a three-star wide receiver, said he is still a solid commit to Texas Tech and is excited about playing the inside receiver position made famous by the likes of past greats such as Wes Welker and Danny Amendola.

He also said he's loved what he has seen on the field so far this season from the Red Raiders.

"Oh yeah, they've been playing well," Batson said. "They throw the ball around a lot and that's something that I love about Texas Tech. Being a slot receiver in that style of offense with Kliff Kingsbury is great."

Batson said he plans on going to see Tech take on Oklahoma in Norman in a couple of weeks, will visit Lubbock for the Oklahoma State game in November and take his official sometime after his season is over.

Arizona State and Washington State have both offered and Batson said they are still recruiting him hard, but he's looking forward to playing for Tech.

"Wes Welker came out of a 2A school like I did and went to Texas Tech, and you know had a great career," Batson said. "Hopefully I can go down there and do the same."
