"I can see myself playing there and I have a better chance to start," Howard said.

Howard added that the coaching staff had a lot to do with him committing and that hanging out with them Saturday was one of his favorite parts of the visit.

"I was surprised after meeting the head coach and the rest of the coaches, how cool they are, that they're all young, how all of them are. I really like that," Howard said. "They just need more players, more people."

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Howard has tallied 53 tackles, three for loss, two interceptions (one for a TD), five pass breakups, forced two fumbles, recovered one (for a 35-yard TD) and blocked two kicks in nine games this season. Howard said he plans on enrolling in the summer.
