Summer Creek linebacker Dakota Allen signed his National Letter of Intent to play football at Texas Tech at the Humble Civic Center Wednesday morning.
"I feel great," Allen exclaimed. "My family is here. This is the greatest day of my life."
Allen is the only linebacker in Texas Tech's 2014 signing class. The 6-foot-2, 227 pound future Red Raider is listed as a three-star prospect. Allen says he can't wait to put on a Texas Tech uniform.
"I look forward to stepping on the field in the black and red and putting my guns up."
The current Texas Tech roster boasts 15 linebackers and just two of those are graduating. Make no mistake, Allen is a solid addition to a defense that was plagued with injuries the past few years and was slaughtered in the rushing game.
Allen reflected a little bit to show what his hard work accomplished.
"It means a lot to me. I've been working hard since I can remember, and just to sign, it's just the best feeling in the world."
