Abercrumbia to Visit Texas Tech

RaiderPower.com caught u with Dallas Skyline defensive tackle Zach Abercrumbia, who has seen his recruitment heat up recently. He talked about his upcoming visit to Tech, his overall recruitment and more.

Texas Tech recently offered 2015 Dallas Skyline defensive tackle Zach Abercrumbia, who would have the opportunity to play with former teammates.

Abercumbia is a 6-foot-3 and 255-pound three-star recruit who has also been offered (just last week) by TCU and Texas State. Abercrumbia already visited TCU, who offered him his first scholarship, but is planning to visit Texas Tech on Feb. 22.

"I'm very excited that they are giving me the opportunity to further my football career there and I will be visiting this month," Abercrumbia said.

This could give Abercrumbia an opportunity to play with former teammates at Texas Tech. On Wednesday Skyline safety Derrick Dixon signed with Tech and was excited to see they made Abercrumbia an offer. Texas Tech has also offered 2015 Skyline four-star wide receiver Carlos Strickland.

"Me and Derrick are pretty close, and he is excited for me that Texas Tech made me an offer," Abercumbia said. "I want to make a visit first, but it would be fun to play with any of my former teammates."

Abercrumbia said he plans on making his decision between April and June, after he makes all his visits and considers all offers. For Abercrumbia, the opportunity to play college football is a huge honor and he is excited to play at the next level.

"I am excited about being apart of a bigger locker room, bigger team with more personalities, and taking the game to the next level," Abercrumbia said.
