Red Raiders Rout Panthers, 8-0

The Red Raiders pushed their win streak to seven games with an 8-0 shutout over the Panthers. Texas Tech can sweep the series and wrap the eight-game homestand 1 p.m. Saturday.

Texas Tech clinched the series against Prairie View A&M by shutting them out 8-0 Friday night at Dan Law Field.

Pitching has been on point for the Red Raiders (31-11) this series. Starting pitcher freshman Dylan Dusek pitched a little over six scoreless innings and only allowed four hits and recorded four strikeouts. Dusek pitched a season high totaling 103 pitches and 69 strikes.

"It was a great day," Dusek said. "When I go out there all I want to do is get the W for the team no matter what."

The bullpen continued to show strength as junior Corey Taylor came in to relieve Dusek and allowed no damage. Overall, Taylor pitched a little over one inning allowing no hits and recorded one strikeout. Jonathan Tripp followed Taylor continuing to shut out the Panthers.

In the second inning, the Red Raiders used their early lead to set the tone for the rest of the evening. Adam Kirsch's sixth home run of the season started it off for the Red Raiders and it was followed by an RBI from Proudfoot. In the seventh and eighth innings Texas Tech was able to tack on a couple more as a result of missed fly balls. Total the Red Raiders had 12 hits, seven RBIs and only struck out three times.

The victory pushes the Red Raiders win streak to seven consecutive games. Texas Tech will wrap the series against Prairie View A&M at 1 pm.
