Texas Tech Coaches Stand Out to Haughton

Waco Midway four-star safety Kahlil Haughton made the trip to Lubbock for junior day back in February and told RaiderPower.com then he enjoyed the visit, but he has since visited several other schools, including a couple Big 12 rivals. Haughton hasn't named a top 10 list but mentions a few standouts and what he likes about the Red Raiders.

Kahlil Haughton is enjoying the recruiting process, visiting several schools and expects to name a top ten after spring ball.

The Waco Midway safety is rated as four-star prospect and ranked as the No. 23 player at his position of the 2015 class by Scout.com.

Haughton, who stands at 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds, has a mile-long offer list which in addition to Texas Tech, includes the likes of LSU, Nebraska, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

The highly recruited safety did mention schools that are sticking out to him right now, but not a "top" list.

"I have recently visited Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech and Duke," Haughton said. "The Oklahoma visit really stood out and Duke was nice too. I like what they have going right now."

Haughton visited Texas Tech during a junior day back in February and said he enjoyed it. He talked about his connection with assistant coaches Trey Haverty and Kevin Curtis, adding that is what is keeping his interest in Tech.

"The coaching staff is most appealing about Tech," Haughton said. "What they did this past year was impressive and they are all young and have fun. I like how its not just business it's really fun. "

As for now Haughton doesn't have any plans for another Texas Tech visit but said he will plan more visits for the summer later this spring.
