Decision Looming for Dauphine

Port Arthur Memorial running back Corey Dauphine committed to Texas Tech back in February, but has since seen his recruitment take off. In-state programs Baylor and Texas A&M have both offered and made strong pushes to flip Dauphine. caught up with him to see where he stands with the Red Raiders.

Port Arthur Memorial running back Corey Dauphine said Thursday he is still solid on his commitment to Texas Tech but he's also still making visits.

This 6-foot-1 and 180-pound four-star running back is close to making his final decision and told to expect one by the end of summer. Currently Dauphine is making a few more visits including Texas Tech, Baylor and Texas A&M.

"I am close to making my decision and I'm pretty solid on Tech," Dauphine said.

Dauphine went to Baylor on an unofficial visit to help his friend move in and attended a camp the same day. According to the 200-meter dash state champ, Baylor is recruiting him hard.

The Red Raiders still remain at the top of the list for Dauphine who has been keeping in contact with the coaches and is planning a visit this summer.

"The coaching staff has been really cool. They call and check up on me pretty often," Dauphine said. "I will make a visit up there this summer, I don't know when yet."
