Dyer Recaps Return Trip to Texas Tech

Texas Tech hosted Mesquite Horn four-star offensive lineman Conner Dyer on Monday and Tuesday. RaiderPower.com caught up with Dyer for a visit recap and an update on his overall recruitment.

Conner Dyer is one of the most coveted offensive linemen in Texas, if not the nation. As such he is no stranger to campus visits, and he is also no stranger to Texas Tech's campus.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound four-star prospect made his third visit to the South Plains since February on Monday. He also attended one of Tech's satellite camps in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in June.

So how did this most recent visit go?

"It went really well!!!," Dyer said Tuesday. " It differed from the last ones because I had really already seen everything so I was just going to hang out."

Dyer added he hung out with the coaching staff during the day Monday and then quarterback Davis Webb later that night.

He is known to loathe to name top schools, but admitted he has done quite a bit of trimming lately.

With Dyer visiting Tech for the third time this year one might safely assume Tech is among his leaders.

"Yes it's fairly safe to say that," Dyer said.

So what keeps bringing Dyer back to Lubbock, what does he like about Texas Tech?

"I like their passion, no one else matches it," Dyer said. "They care about their players more than other coaches do."

Dyes is the No. 14 rated guard and the No. 249 overall prospect in the nation for the 2015 class. Texas Tech is recruiting him at Tackle.

In addition to Tech, he holds offers from Baylor, California, LSU, Miami, Mississippi, Navy, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, SMU, Stanford, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, UCONN and Virginia.

Dyer said he didn't know if he plans on taking any other visits this summer but does plan on using one of his five official visits to take in a Red Raider game at Jones AT&T Stadium this Fall.
