Decision Coming Following Missouri Visit

The Missouri Tigers are among the final teams for one of their top line targets for the 2015 football recruiting class. has the latest details. spoke with 2015 OT prospect Madison Akamnonu 6’6” 280 Arlington (TX) Bowie, who talked about his interest in Missouri, as well as his upcoming visit plans.

“After I go visit Missouri, that’s when I’m going to make my decision,” said Akamnonu.

Akamnonu holds offers from Arizona State, Arkansas State, Baylor, Colorado State, Connecticut, Houston, Kansas State, Maryland, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Southern Mississippi, TCU, Texas, Texas State, Texas Tech, and Wake Forest, in addition to Missouri.

Akamnonu told that he has narrowed his college choices to include Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech. He’s planning to visit Oklahoma for a second time, after having gone to Oklahoma’s Junior Day months ago, and Missouri for the first time. He’s already visited Texas Tech.

He’s planning to visit Missouri this month, then make a final decision next month. He named August 24th as the day he intends to announce his commitment. At the time of this writing, he hadn’t settled on the exact date for his Missouri visit. It sounds like he and his family plan to drive to Oklahoma and Missouri.

“I’m trying to be done in August,” said Akamnonu.

Akamnonu, who's former Bowie teammates Roderick Winters and Russell Hansbrough are currently at Missouri, said that he’s looking forward to visiting Mizzou.

“I’ve never been to Missouri,” explained the big lineman, who said he’s been talking to Missouri assistant coach Dave Steckel. “I’m looking forward to the visit.”
