Johnson Talks Top Schools caught up with Dallas South Oak Cliff safety Jamile Johnson, who has narrowed his list down to five finalists after decommitting from Oklahoma.

Coveted three-star recruit, Jamile Johnson, committed to Oklahoma back in February. However, the South Oak Cliff safety has since decommitted and decided to reopen his recruitment as he enters his senior season.

The 6-foot-1, 194-pound Johnson recently announced his finalists as North Carolina, Arkansas, Texas Tech, TCU, and Nebraska. Johnson stated that North Carolina is currently leading the race, however, each of the aforementioned schools are still very much in the mix.

"Basically, the rise of the University of North Carolina and the opportunity that they could give me interests me quite a bit."

How interested is Johnson in Texas Tech?

"My interest in Tech is super high, but other schools are offering early playing time so I kind of wonder if Tech can offer the same. But I recently have not had any contact with Tech. I just like the school and Coach Morris."

The big safety does, in fact, plan to visit Texas Tech, but he does not currently have anything in the works just yet.

"I plan to take an official visit to Tech, but I haven't booked a visit yet."
