Four-Star LB Talks Texas Tech Offer

Texas Tech recently offered Houston Alief Elsik junior four-star linebacker Dontavious Jackson. Standing at 6-foot-2, 237 pounds, Jackson is ranked as the No. 4 middle linebacker in the country by Scout. He currently holds offers from Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Louisville, Louisiana Tech, Houston, California and Arizona State.

RP: How are you? How's your season so far?

Jackson: I'm great and going good we are 8-1 and preparing for a rival team and statistic wise I'm having a phenomenal season.

RP: That's good. So Tech recently offered you, how did that go down?

Jackson: Yes and coach Curtis basically told me to call him and we had a very detailed conversation that ended with an offer.

RP: What do you know/interest you about Texas Tech?

Jackson: Just the Legacy of the program, it's a great school overall with young interactive coaches.

RP: What is your relationship like with the coaches? How often do y'all talk?

Jackson: Very friendly, cool and 2 or 3 times a week.

RP: Nice, you have a pretty impressive offer list, what schools are standing out to you right now?

Jackson: Honestly all of the schools because they took a chance and offered me when they didn't have to.

RP: Have you made any visits or planning any soon?

Jackson: Not yet but this week is a bye so I want to make something happen

RP: Cool. Do you plan on making your way to Lubbock at some point?

Jackson: Yes, of course.

RP: Do you have a timetable for a decision?

Jackson: Not yet.

RP: All right, last one. What are you looking for in a program? What is the deciding factor for you?

Jackson: A homely environment where I feel comfortable.
