RP: So first off, how was your visit? What did you do while you were here in Lubbock?
Haughton: The visit was awesome! I mainly just got a chance to hangout with the coaches a lot. Also, got to go over some video and see how the coaches planned on issuing me in their scheme. Also, got hangout with my host, Payne Sullins (walk-on QB from Waco Reicher), and just hung out with a lot of the guys and went out around campus.
RP: Can you talk about your connection with the Tech coaching staff? How important is that for you?
Haughton: I have a great connection with the coaches. I talked to coach Haverty and Curtis on a daily basis. They're awesome guys! I find relationships very important though because they're the people you're going to be around for the next 4-5 years so I have to be able to trust them and know that they want wants in the best interest for me.
RP: You took your fifth official visit to Tech, what really stuck out to you?
Haughton: Probably the community the most. Just experiencing the game day atmosphere and fans was something really special. Everyone really loves Texas Tech football. Also, feeling the family atmosphere in general and just how the players really bonded stuck out.
RP: That being said, where does Tech stand with you after this weekend?
Haughton: Still in top 5. I don't have any leaders, but this trip only benefited Tech more.
RP: What separates Tech from other schools in the mix?
Haughton: The family atmosphere definitely and the coaches. It’s just a comfortable place to be.
RP: Good stuff, are you taking any more (unofficial) visits this season?
Haughton: No ma'am.
RP: Lastly, do you know when you are planning to make a decision?
Haughton: After the season.
RP: Sounds good. Thank you for your time.
Haughton: No problem!
