RP: First off how did it go tonight? I saw several Texas Tech coaches visited you tonight, including Kingsbury.
Thanks to Coach Kingsbury, Haverty, Morris, and Curtis for stopping by! Always a pleasure talking with the Tech coaches! ?? #GunsUp— Kahlil Haughton (@Kahlilhaughton) December 8, 2014
Haughton: Yeah, it definitely went well! I always enjoy talking with the coaches and catching up.
RP: What was their overall message? Anything stand out about the visit or did you mostly just hang out?
Haughton: They just tried to get across the the idea that the opportunity to play early is very realistic, but other than that is was kind of hanging out.
RP: Cool. You've had a busy week. I saw coach Stoops and OU visited last week. How did that go?
Haughton: It was good! Got a chance to talk a lot about how they would use me in their defense as well as how they would develop me off the field.
RP: I saw Arkansas came by too. How about that one, how'd it go?
Haughton: It was good too. Coach [Clay] Jennings is a great genuine guy so he's always a pleasure to talk to! He really loves helping kids on and off the field.
RP: Then you went to the Baylor-K-State game. What did you think of the game? How'd it go for you?
Haughton: The game was definitely a lot of fun! Being around the guys was exciting too since they had won their secnd conference championship
RP: Did any other school visit you last week?
Haughton: No sir.
RP: I know you made an official to Nebraska. Has the coaching changes altered your stance with them. Are you still considering the Huskers?
Haughton: I'm still considering them because the new coaching staff was the staff to offer me my first scholarship
RP: Wow. That's interesting. In a previous interview you said you would decide shortly after your season ended. Did you set a decision date yet?
Haughton: No, I'm not sure yet. I'll go through the home visits first and then discuss with my family on what I'll decide to do.
RP: Who else do you have visits planned with?
Haughton: Baylor Monday, OU Tuesday, Nebraska Wednesday, Arkansas Thursday and that's it for now.
RP: Wow. You ever get tired of the recruiting process, do you enjoy this or what?
Haughton: Sometimes it can but I always just remember how blessed I am to have this opportunity so it makes it a lot easier to cope with.
RP: Well have you narrowed down your list any more? Who is still realistically in it for you?
Haughton: All five schools (Arkansas, Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas Tech) are still in it.
RP: That's interesting. One more question: you mentioned the new staff at Nebraska was the first to offer you. I assumed the change would hurt Nebraska's chances, but would you say the new staff has actually helped the Huskers?
Haughton: In some ways yes, but I think both coaching staffs consisted of great people and considering I'm still familiar with this staff doesn't change much.
