McCulloch Stars On and Off the Field
Aldine Davis linebacker Jeffrey McCulloch has a great future ahead of him.
As a junior, he’s received offers from numerous power five conference schools. That’s a good indication the NFL may one day be a possibility.
McCulloch is not too worried about those things at the moment. There’s something else on his mind currently: school.
“It’s going great right now. I’ve had A’s all throughout the semester, so I’m expecting to finish with straight A’s after taking my finals.”
While gridiron bluebloods such as Oklahoma have offered McCulloch, so have schools which are known more for academic prestige such as Duke and Vanderbilt (which have had recent success at football too).
McCulloch takes pride in his schoolwork, and it’s seeping into his recruitment. His top priority in seeking a program is the education.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker has eight total offers including Texas Tech, who currently has Mike Smith contacting him. It’s not the defense that has caught McCulloch’s eye though.
“Great program. I like the high-paced offense. It reminds me of my high school offense.”
Prior to his resignation, John Scott was his primary contact. McCulloch said he was not aware of the resignation.
McCulloch has been to Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M so far. Although he’s seen all four campuses, there is not a favorite.
