Biggurs Talks Texas Tech, Top Five

RaiderPower.com spoke with Coppell three-star defensive end and Tech legacy Chris Biggurs recently about where he stands with the Red Raiders and his overall recruitment.

Texas Tech legacy and Coppell defensive end Chris Biggurs still has yet to receive an offer from the school his parents attended.

“My dad has been talking to them for a while. I don’t know. It never happened.”

The Red Raiders are still in talks with Biggurs (6-foot-1, 250 pounds), but Tech is not sure of which direction they want to go defensively. One of the questions which the coaching staff is trying to address is who will replace former defensive line coach John Scott Jr., who resigned last month.

Biggurs gave his reaction to Scott’s resignation.

“I liked coach Scott,” Biggurs replied. “If I had the offer and decided to go there, I was looking forward to playing for him, but if I feel comfortable with the person they put in there, then it won’t change my overview of Tech.”

Texas Tech is currently not in the top five of the 6-foot-1, 251 pound defensive lineman. The sole reason for that is the lack of a scholarship. Biggurs said an offer would skyrocket the Red Raiders into the top five.

If Biggurs was forced to make a decision at the moment of the conversation, he would choose Rice over Iowa State.

“I haven’t been to Iowa State, so I couldn’t say how the atmosphere down there was. I’ve been down to Rice, and I liked it down there. It’s a great school. When I’m done playing football and I have a degree from there, I can do what I want to do.”
