The Fort Bend Elkins standout, rated as a three-star prospect by Scout, said he started off the weekend by having dinner with the other commits and coaches on Friday. The next day they went on a tour of campus and focused on the academic side of things and then went to the Jones to get a feeling for the athletic side.
“I had a really really good time,” Giles said. “I got to meet all the other commits, the coaches and the players, I had fun.”
Patrick Mahomes and Ian Sadler were Giles hosts this weekend and they played video games back at the dorm. Giles said it got pretty competitive when he “blew out” Mahomes and made him quit the first night in NCAA, and then again the next night in Madden. So of course, he had to call him out on twitter.
“Well my host was Patrick and Ian and they are two very good guys,” Giles said. “They are great people to be around.”

In addition to hanging out with current players, Giles said it was good to bond with the other commits in the class.
“It was great,” Giles said, “because usually I text them and tweet them, but spending time face to face was great”
Giles mentioned his favorite part was the welcoming feeling he had when he came to Lubbock.
“Having a good time with the coaches and the people of Lubbock they welcomed us well and we really felt welcome” Giles said.
This visit made Giles ready to suit up in red and black.
“I’m very excited now,” Giles said. “I can’t wait now.”
