His official visit did not change his mind at all.
“It was great. I enjoyed every bit of it. It was great meeting the rest of the recruits and my future teammates for the next four to five years. It was great being around the coaches as well.”
Hinton was hosted by freshman Dakota Allen, who is a linebacker from the greater Houston area like Hinton. Allen is a product of Summer Creek in Humble.
The Texas City product mentioned the recruits did many things together including meals and the well-known trip to Main Event.
Hinton, who is rapidly becoming a favorite amongst the Texas Tech fan base, recently got a new haircut sporting the Double T logo in its exact color and design.
“I don’t know. I just kind of thought of it and I was like ‘Well, since I’m borderline official, and I’m already verbally committed to Texas Tech, so why not get a T T and get it colored in red and black.”
The hair cut took about an hour to create and the color red came from a colored hair pencil. To design the Double T logo, the barber used a clipper to create a bald spot.

Those who were hoping Hinton would keep the fashionable do for his career will be saddened to hear the coloring is already growing out, and Hinton will not keep it after his next haircut. There is some hope for those wanting it to make a comeback.
“I might get it again. I don’t know. We’ll see.”
