The following interview was conducted over Twitter via direct messages:
RP: First off, congrats on the offer. How'd it go down?
Benson: Thank you sir. He followed me yesterday on here and asked me for my coach's number. So this morning my coach called me down and game me Coach Morris' number and we talked about the program and how he liked to have me there and he offered me. I really enjoyed it.
RP: That's cool. How long has Tech been talking to you?
Benson: Since this morning lol.
RP: Wow. Did Morris talk to you about how they see you fitting in to the program?
Benson: Yes sir. He told me about how they needed a tall, speedy receiver and he watched my film and thinks I can fit that spot very well.
RP: What do you know about Tech as a program and school?
Benson: I know they got a new head coach. They are very explosive. I know they produce very good receivers. One of my favorite is Crabtree.
RP: Do you have any visits planned to Tech or anywhere else?
Benson: Yes sir. Tech, Kansas, Texas State, Rice, Louisiana Lafayette, Yale and Boise State.
RP: Wow. You're gonna be a busy dude. When are you visiting Tech?
Benson: On the 28th.
RP: Junior day. Nice. Scout has you with offers from Tech, KU and Texas State. Is that correct?
Benson: Yes sir.
RP: Do you have a leader or leaders? Maybe a dream school?
Benson: Well, I look up to God, and my parents. Sports wise I really like Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Richard Sherman, people like that. Not really a dream school. I look for the school to have a good graduation rate. Have a good, supportive surrounding community.
RP: I noticed you said you plan on visiting Yale. I'm assuming your scores/grades really up there? Also, do you know yet what you want to study?
Benson: Yes sir they're pretty good I'm an A student. I want to take Pre-Med to be a Family Practitioner.
RP: That's awesome. Thanks for your time and congrats on all your success.
