Prosper LB Takes In Texas Tech Junior Day

RaiderPower.com caught up with Prosper rising junior linebacker John Brannon for a Q&A about his visit to Texas Tech's junior day on Saturday.

RP: Overall, how would you describe the visit?

Brannon: It was good. It's always fun going down to Tech and they made their junior day very fun by keeping it in small groups and when we toured the campus it wasn't in a big bus it was in suburbans with a coach of your side of the ball and the girl who escorted you around and family members. That was it and I really enjoyed it. Tech has a very pretty campus with great facilities.

RP: Speaking of coaches, did you get to speak with them much and what did you think?

Brannon: I liked the coaches. I spoke with [Kliff] Kingsbury [Zac] Spavital, [Darrin] Chiaverini and [Trey] Haverty and almost all the defensive coaches.

RP: Did they discuss an offer with you? Where are they at?

Brannon: They said they will come down in spring and that's when they would if they do.

RP: Last time we talked you said you prefer playing inside. Is that where Tech sees you? Did you get to talk scheme?

Brannon: Yes sir. They run a 4-3 so I would fit in pretty well.

RP: Did you get a chance to speak with DC David Gibbs. If so, what did you think?

Brannon: Yes sir I did. He's an extremely nice guy and I like him. I got his contact info so I'll be calling him and Chiaverini from now on.

RP: You have visited a lot of schools, did anything about Tech stand out? Anything different about what Tech offers?

Brannon: How they actually care and if you have little brothers and sisters, they were playing with the kids and were carrying the kids around.

RP: That's good stuff. Is there anything else I'm missing? Anything you'd like to add?

Brannon: No sir thank you for the interview.

RP: Thank you.
