Audio: Johnson Impressed by Texas Tech

Dallas South Oak Cliff QB David Johnson describes his time on the South Plains during Texas Tech's junior day on Saturday.

Dallas South Oak Cliff quarterback David Johnson visited Texas Tech for junior day on Saturday and came away very impressed.

It certainly doesn't hurt that his former high school coach, Emmett Jones, is now director of player development for the Red Raiders.

Johnson completed 182 of 292 passing attempts (.623 completion percentage) for 3,138 yards, 44 touchdowns and just eight interceptions last fall. He also ran for another almost 200 yards and a pair of scores.

The 6-foot-1, 172-pound rising senior detailed his trip to the South Plains, as well as talked about his close relationship with both Jones and Texas Tech running back commit Da'Leon Ward in the audio interview below.
