Texas Tech has the eyes of a junior college 6-foot-4, 320-pound offensive lineman who could conceivably be on campus as early as this summer.
Terrance Malone has played one year at Northwest Mississippi Community College and is now exploring other options. He said he is in contact with Texas Tech, Iowa State, Arkansas State and Cincinnati but has yet to receive an offer.
He added that Texas Tech, along with Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma are the schools he is most interested in.
In his senior year of high school at Batesville (MS) South Panola, Malone was picked to represent his state in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game.
As for the Red Raiders, Malone said has been watching video of Texas Tech and likes their style of play.
Malone added offensive line coach Lee Hays and offensive coordinator Eric Morris have been in contact with Malone mainly to get the details of his transfer and transcript.
Malone said he could transfer after this semester if he picks up an offer, but if not he would likely transfer in December following his sophomore season.
Until then he said he will be spending the offseason working on his footwork and becoming a more explosive player.
