Akamnonu Wants to Get to Work

RaiderPower.com caught up with four-star offensive tackle and Red Raider signee Madison Akamnonu, who will report to Texas Tech in a couple days.

Summer is upon us already and many Texas Tech signees will report to campus on Monday. Former Arlington Bowie four-star offensive tackle, Madison Akamnonu is one of those and said he couldn’t be more excited to play at the next level.

RaiderPower.com has caught up with the 6-foot-5, 270-pound offensive tackle multiple times throughout the spring and he said he is just preparing his body to be the best it can be.

Specifically, he said he is working on his footwork and run blocking with his other senior teammates who will play at the D1 level.

What is Akamnonu looking forward to most about college football?

“The intensity,” Akamnonu said.

He plans to bring some of that intensity as well. He said everyone watching should expect him to bring speed to Texas Tech’s offensive line.

More than anything, Akamnonu is ready to walk that stage, and start his college career as a Red Raider.

“I’m extremely excited,” Akamnonu said. “I think I’ll have an amazing time there.”

After the whole recruiting process and after signing with the Red Raiders, Akamnonu is thankful for everyone who stood behind him. He wants to leave the Texas Tech fans with this message:

“Wreck Em’ and thank you all for standing behind us. You all make the team,” Akamnonu said.
