Rowdy Frederick to Visit Texas Tech Soon caught up with Broken Arrow lineman Rowdy Frederick for an update on his recruitment. Find out when he plans on visiting Texas Tech, what his timetable is for a decision and more inside.

Broken Arrow (Okla.) offensive tackle Rowdy Frederick has caught the eye of many programs around the country and may have a decision as early as this summer.

As of now Frederick, who is ranked as the best offensive tackle in Oklahoma by Scout, holds offers from Houston, North Texas, Texas Tech and Tulsa. He said he is also hearing from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Kansas State.

The Red Raiders were one of the first to offer Frederick and are recruiting him the hardest. Frederick said he keeps in contact with coach Lee Hays and Kevin Curtis daily.

“We have a great relationship,” Frederick said. “I want to find time to take a visit this summer.”

Frederick has family in Lubbock, which is also a perk because he got familiar with the Texas Tech style offense at a young age, and it’s made its impression.

“I went to a Texas Tech game when I was little and ever since then I had them in the back of my head,” Frederick said.

This summer Frederick traveled to Fayetteville for a camp with the Razorbacks, which was “really good” and he might go camps at Kansas State and TCU. A Texas Tech and Houston visit is also on his agenda this summer.

Frederick said he might be nearing a decision that could come late July or early August but at the latest early fall.

What exactly is he looking for in a program?

“Just a place where I feel like I’m at home. I’m genuinely wanted there and they need me on the team and a place where I can get a great education,” Frederick said.

Until then Frederick said he will be working on his mobility, getting in shape and doing what it takes to take his team to a state championship.
