Dallas South Oak Cliff’s Marvin Terry is ranked the third best outside linebacker in the state by Scout and holds a dozen offers from schools around the country including Texas Tech, Arkansas, Miami, Missouri, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State and UCLA.
Who is going after this 6-foot-2 and 210 pound linebacker the hardest?
Terry said Texas Tech is talking to him the most and that they keep in touch on a daily basis. Both coaches Emmett Jones, who formerly coached at South Oak Cliff and Kevin Curtis, have been recruiting Terry and he said they have formed a solid relationship.
“My relationship with them is very strong. We talk about more than football. That’s one of the things I look for in a school. I need somewhere I know there’s people that really care about me,” Terry said.
Terry took a visit to Texas Tech back in March, but got another chance to hangout with the coaching staff at the camp in Lancaster earlier this summer. He said he enjoyed getting to see the coaches in action and got to know their coaching style.
Those visits made the Red Raiders stand out to Terry.
I see what they are trying to do with their program and I would love to be apart of that.
Texas Tech camp was the only one Terry attended this summer and he added that he does not have any more visits set up.
Although, there are many other programs that are going after this four-star recruit such as Oklahoma and TCU, which will make his decision tough. Terry has previously mentioned interest in both programs. He was planning to visit Norman this summer, but had to cancel due to transportation issues according to Sooners Illustrated.
As of now Terry said he is keeping his top interest “classified” but plans to have a top three in the next week. He has reported offers from Stay tuned to Scout for updates on Terry’s recruitment as he nears his decision.
