DeAndre Washington Ready for Senior Season

Texas Tech senior running back DeAndre Washington previews the 2015 season, describes what it is like playing for coach Mike Jinks, breaks down what areas of his game he's improved on, explains how and where he will be utilized and much more.

Texas Tech running back DeAndre Washington has seen a little bit of everything over his career in Lubbock.

A torn ACL, multiple coaching changes, big wins, tough losing streaks and the personal milestone of becoming the first Red Raider to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season since the Air Raid came to town back in 2000, are just some of the experiences which have made him a team leader, even among fellow seniors.

Washington also appears on course for a monster senior season. With the opener just a handful of days away, everything is on the line; his legacy as a Red Raider, a shot at a professional career and the culmination of all his hard work before and since signing with Tech back in 2011.

"I think we have the opportunity for a really special year," Washington said. "I think with the squad we got, just the adversity we've been through, the character this team has I think we have the opportunity to shock the world and have a special year."
