T.J. Vasher didn't have a spectacular game by his standards Friday night in Wichita Falls Rider's 27-24 win over Amarillo.
Yet, when it was all said and done he walked off with 7 catches for 100 yards, including one spectacular scoring catch and most importantly the win. Vasher always seemed to be open and yet he also had a couple drops.
That being said he was easily the best athlete out there. His 25-yard touchdown catch was Sportscenter worthy as the 6-foot-5 receiver jumped over two helpless defenders to snare the ball in the end zone.
Vasher was also outstanding as a blocker downfield and helped pave the way fro some long runs, including a trio of scores by quarterback Willie Cherry, who powered through an Amarillo defender at the goaline on the final play for the win.
He also came up clutch with a diving third-down grab along the sideline on the final drive.
Overall, it's easy to see why Vasher is considered an elite talent by many, is a four-star recruit and a Scout 300 prospect. He's a terrific talent.
