Fri. Night Lights: Texas Tech Commit Roundup

A look at how all of Texas Tech's 2016 commits, including Houston Miller (pictured above), performed in their games last week and a look ahead to who they face next.

OL Zach Adams, Riverbend (VA)

The Riverbend offense put up a total of 153 yards, and most of that came from running back Lorenzo Door who went for a career high of 116 yards on 23 carries. That was not enough for Riverbend who lost to Courtland 7-6. Up next:  at Spotsylvania (VA) Massaponax, 7 p.m. Friday

CB Neiman Armstrong, DeSoto

IMG Academy beat Desoto 47-29 after their defense scored twice in the second half.  Up next: vs. South Oak Cliff, 7:30 p.m. Saturday

WR Dequan Bowman, Hutchinson (KS) Community College

Bowman caught five passes for 74 yards and a touchdown to help Hutchinson beat Fort Scott 37-6. Up next: vs. Butler, 7 p.m. Saturday 

LB Jordyn Brooks, Houston Stratford

Stratford beat Alief Elsik 17-6 on Friday. Brooks had a sack, big tackle for loss on fourth down and recovered a forced fumble. Up next: at Fort Bend Ridge Point, 6 p.m. Saturday

OT Travis Bruffy Fort Bend Ridge Point

Ridge Point fell 33-28 to Fort Bend Hightower. The Ridge Point offense put up 372 yards of total offense, 149 those on the ground but it still wasn’t enough to keep up with Hightower. Up next: vs. Houston Stratford, 6 p.m. Saturday

TE Donte Coleman, West Mesquite

West Mesquite defeated Wylie 20-16. Up next: vs. Red Oak, 7:30 p.m. Friday

WR Antoine Cox-Wesley, Cibolo Steele

Cibolo Steele blew out Laredo United South 45-0. Cox-Wesley had eight catches for 74 yards in the contest. Up next: at San Antonio O’Connor, 7:00 p.m. Thursday

RB Bryson Denley, Cibolo Steele

Denley rushed for 10 yards on four carries and had two touchdowns in the Knights 45-0 win over Laredo United South. Up next: at San Antonio O’Connor, 7:00 p.m. Thursday

DE Austin Deshay Pflugerville Hendrickson

The Hendrickson defense allowed Belton produce 400 yard of total offense, but their offense was able to outscore them. Hendrickson won 45-40. Up next: vs. Brandels, 7:00 p.m. Friday

QB Jett Duffey, Mansfield Lake Ridge

Lake Ridge defeats Keller Fossil Ridge 30-13, Duffey completed 11 of 21 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown. He added 168 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, the most impressive being a 52-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Up next: vs. Waco, 7 p.m. Thursday

CB Damarcus Fields, Taylor

Rockdale was able to score 42 points in the middle two quarters to come back from a 14-0 deficit to beat Taylor 42-28. In Field’s highlight film he breaks up three passes. Up next: at Hallettsville, 7:00 p.m. Thurdsday.

OT Emoree Giddens, Lubbock Coronado

Coronado won 28-27 against Odessa High. The Mustangs offense created 360 total yards in the win. Up next: at Lake View, 7:30 p.m. Friday

OL Clarence Henderson, Dallas Skyline

The Skyline offense totaled 291 in a 24-22 win over Arlington Martin. Up next: at Cedar Hill, 7:30 p.m. Friday

DT Ivory Jackson, Amarillo

Amarillo fell to Wichita Falls Rider 27-24, but Jackson tallied two sacks on key third down plays, four tackles for loss, and 10 tackles. His performance bumped him up to a 3-star rating by Scout. Up next: at El Paso Montwood, 7:30 p.m. Friday

DE Noah Jones, Southmoore (OK)

Jones did not play. 

DT Nicholas McCann, Texarkana Arkansas

Arkansas High lost 28-14 against Texarkana Texas on Friday. Arkansas defense allowed Texas running back Jakardi Witcher go for 298 yards and three touchdowns alone. Up next: at Liverty-Eylau, 7 p.m. Friday

DE Houston Miller, Keller

Miller tallied two more sacks and nine tackles in Keller’s 38-28 win over Flower Mound.  So far this season he is at 28 tackles, six tackles for loss, four sacks and five quarterback hurries. Up next: vs. Rowlett, 7:00 p.m. Thursday

OL Giovanni Pancotti, Houston Bellaire Episcopal

Episcopal put up 351 yards of total offense to beat Midland Christian 29-3 on Friday. Up next: at Dallas Bishop Dunne, 3:00 p.m. Saturday

LB Johnathan Picone, Mandeville (LA)

Holy Cross got up on Mandeville at half time, but Picone had several tackles for loss in the third and four quarters to keep them off balance and eventually Mandeville won 24-20. Up next: vs.  Barbe (LA), 7 p.m. Friday

LB Brayden Stringer, Cypress Ranch

BYE Up Next: at Cypress Lakes, 7:00 p.m. Thursday

DT Mychealon Thomas, Butler (KS) County College

Thomas had one tackle for loss in Butler CC’s 40-7 win over Iowa Western. Up next: at Hutchinson, 7 p.m. Saturday 

WR T.J. Vasher Wichita Falls Rider

Vasher caught seven passes for a total of 100 receiving yards in Rider’s 27-24 win over Amarillo. Vasher’s 25-yard touchdown catch was Sports Center worthy according to publisher Jarret Johnson. Up next: vs. Denton Guyer, 7:00 p.m. Friday 

DT Joe Wallace, Dallas Skyline

Skyline held Arlington Martin to 233 yards of total offense in the 24-22 win on Friday. Up next: at Cedar Hill, 7:30 p.m. Friday

RB Da’Leon Ward, Dallas Skyline

Ward led Skyline’s ground game by rushing for 117 yards on 20 carries in Skyline’s 24-22 win over Arlington Martin. Up next: at Cedar Hill, 7:30 p.m. Friday

WR Derrick Willies, Trinity Valley C.C.

Willies had a 46-yard touchdown catch in Trinity Valley’s 72-50 win against Navarro College. Up next: at Cisco College, 7 p.m. Saturday
