Lafayette (La.) Acadiana senior linebacker Kevin Moore announced his commitment to Texas Tech on Thursday night via Twitter.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound three-start prospect is ranked as the No. 2 linebacker in Louisiana, the No. 22 'backer in the south region and No. 67 at his position in the nation by Scout.com.
Moore, who visited Texas Tech for the season opener against Sam Houston State, is the 24th overall commit, the 14th defensive player, the 12th front seven recruit and the second Louisiana linebacker pledge of the 2016 class for the Red Raiders who are starting to stockpile talent on that side of the ball this cycle.
According to his Scout bio, Moore racked up 125 tackles, 33 assists, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 11 tackles for loss, four interceptions, two sacks, four pass breakups and one defensive touchdown on the way to being named All-Area Defensive MVP in 2014 as a junior. He's also led Acadiana to 6-2 overall record this season as a senior.
Moore committed to Tech over offers from Arizona State, Arkansas State, California, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisville, McNeese State, Miami, Oklahoma State, Southern Mississippi, Tulane, Utah and Western Kentucky.
