O' DeAndre Washington how Red Raider Nation loves thee. Let me count the ways:

Most recently you became the first Texas Tech running back to post consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons since Byron Hanspard 20 years ago.

This is after you earned the distinction of being the first Air Raid back in Tech history to rush for over 1,000 yards just last season.

You have laced em up 46 times times for the Red Raiders over your career. In those 46 games you have amassed 2,953 yards, 18 touchdowns on 540 rushes. The rushing total is good enough for sixth all-time in program history.

Dre, you have also caught 112 passes for 960 yards and four touchdowns. In addition to the resume with the ball in your hands you have worked your way into a dependable blocker in pass protection, which is a must for all backs in today's game.

Despite the impressive statistical production, what has endeared you to everyone around the Texas Tech football program is the way you overcame the catastrophic knee injury, your tireless work ethic, and the way you carry yourself off the field.

As you prepare to play your final game at the Jones Saturday I believe I speak for everyone in saying thank you.
