Previewing Texas Tech's Mega Recruiting Weekend

A look at some of the headliners, including five four-start visitors, taking part in Texas Tech's biggest recruiting weekend of the year.

Raider Power has confirmed 23 prospects expected to visit Texas Tech this week, including five four-star recruits. Many of the visitors are 2016 commits on their officials but not all.

Here are some of the headliners expected to take part in Texas Tech's biggest recruiting weekend of the year.

Wide receiver Zach Farrar out of Southlake Carroll, a Scout three-star prospect and at the top of Tech's uncommitted target board, is expected to be on hand for an official visit.

Fellow 2016 four-star wide receiver T.J. Vasher from Wichita Falls Rider will also be in the Hub City this weekend for an official. Though already committed, this could go a long way toward wrapping him up for good.

Another 2016 offensive commit set to take his official this weekend is Dallas Skyline running back Da'Leon Ward. The Scout three-star prospect was the first pledge of the class back in February.

Headlining the defense is Scout four-star defensive end commit Houston Miller out of Keller. Miller has already emerged as one of the leaders in the 2016 class and is 100 percent Red Raider.

2016 Tech defensive lineman commit Ivory Jackson will make the trek down I-27 for the festivities. In fact he and Miller are two of seven Red Raider 2016 defensive line commits who will be taking their official visits this weekend in Lubbock.

Scout three-star recruit Brayden Stringer out of Cypress Ranch is one of three linebacker commits taking their officials to Tech this week not counting Johnathan Picone who is already on campus as an early enrollee.

Cornerback commit Desmon Smith out of Odessa Permian will also on hand for his official and told recently his whole family is excited for the visit.

The 2017 class is also well-represented with four-star offensive lineman commit Jack Anderson expected to be on-hand with Frisco teammate and Texas Tech offer Dawson Deaton.
