Texas Tech four-star wide receiver commit T.J. Vasher is excited to take his official visit during the Red Raiders mega-recruiting weekend.
It’s all about the company this weekend. That is what all of the class of 2016 is looking forward to mainly the ones, including Vasher, that have visited Texas Tech many times.
“I’m mostly looking forward to hanging out with the guys I will be around for the next few years,” he said. “I think it will be great.”
The Texas Tech coaching staff has been in contact with Vasher daily and was the first school to reach out to him when the open period started.
During his senior season Vasher was the leading receiver for Wichita Falls Rider with 591 yards on 33 catches and six touchdowns. He’s currently ranked the No. 8 receiver in Texas and the Midlands region and No. 46 in the country by Scout.
The 6-foot-5, 190-pound prospect has been impressive on the hardwood this season as well. Most recently Vasher had his second triple-double of the season helping Rider defeat Saginaw 65-44. Vasher had 11 points, 11 assists and 16 rebounds.
Vasher has been keeping up with Texas Tech basketball added they are having a great season and was especially impressed with their performance against Kansas. He said he is still not sure if he will play both sports at Texas Tech.
That’s not the only thing he is focusing on this offseason though. Vasher said he has been doing “as much as possible” to get ready to play at the next level. He added that his main goal is to beef up as much as he can.
