Texas Tech offered Zachary (La.) athlete Douglas Coleman on Monday.
Coleman was a Louisiana Sports Writers Association first-team all-state selection at receiver after hauling in 62 passes for 1,482 yards and 15 touchdowns to help the Broncos to the Louisiana Class 5A state title last season. He also returned kicks and punts, plus played cornerback for Zachary as a senior and Coleman said defense back is where Texas Tech sees him playing for the Red Raiders.
The 6-foot-1, 175 pounder told me Texas Tech defensive coordinator David Gibbs and assistant coach Jabar Juluke visited him at school on Monday and then offered him the scholarship. Coleman also said he plans on taking an official visit to Texas Tech this weekend.
Coleman committed to in-state Tulane just last weekend, but when asked Monday night if the Red Raiders had a shot at flipping him he simply replied, "yeah".
