Zachary Louisiana athlete Douglas Coleman announced he was flipping from Tulane to Texas Tech on Twitter following an official visit to Lubbock over the weekend.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, Coleman told Raider Power in a previous interview Tech offered him as a defensive back.

Coleman actually earned Louisiana Sports Writers Association first team all-state honors as a receiver last season after catching 62 passes for 1,482 yards and 15 touchdowns to help the Zachary to the Class 5A state title. He also played defensive back and returned kicks for the Broncos.

Coleman is the third defensive back commit of the class, the 15th on defense and 26 pledge overall of the Tech's 2016 class. He's also the Red Raiders' first commit since mid-November.

As of Sunday night, Texas Tech's class ranks No. 21 in the nation and third in the Big 12 by Scout.
